PERIODIC PHOTOGRAPHS
I will display different photographs here at fairly regular intervals.

Pictures from near Bunclody

Portal Dolmens or Portal Tombs are some of our most ancient archaeological remains. This one near Carlow town (half an hour from Bunclody) is
probably close to six thousand years old. That is well over a thousand years older than the oldest pyramids. To touch such an ancient monument
gives such a strange feeling of how relatively insignificant a normal life-span is. I also got feelings of admiration for the people who built these and gave
birth to people who struggled and survived down though the millennia to the time that we now live in.
It is free to visit, and from the car park on the road it is a short walk along a well surfaced walkway. GPS=N52.8376 W6.8764
