Once again we had a great night in Bunclody for
fancy-dress night. Again lots of people made a huge effort to dress themselves up in all
sorts of costumes, masks, wigs and paint. A lot of the costumes were handmade and some
showed great ingenuity.
This Halloween photo -taken in Weston's pub- shows
Pat Skelton (seated) who dressed as a knight. Standing are Eileen and Marian Hanrick as
two schoolgirls, Marie Dunne and Josephine Kavanagh as the Bird and Bull from John B
Keane's "The Field", ( Incidentally Richard Harris who Played the Bull McCabe so
well, recently died, as is noted in the sign worn in the photo above), Liz Kenny is
between the "The Field" characters, Noleen Owens is looking over the Bull's left
shoulder and Laurence and Mick Breen are the men without costumes. I don't remember who
the person in the red scarf and black veil is.
