Some of the numerous trees and shrubs in Kilmacurragh garden. This
garden is in the process of being restored, but is still worth a visit if you are in the
area. It was once owned by the director of the national botanic gardens in the latter part
of the 19th century. It is said that because of the micro climate here that he managed to
grow some plants here that he was unable to grow in the botanic garden.
Heading North, turn left at Lil Doyle's Pub, take
next left and the entrance is a few hundred metres on the left. Admission was free when I
visited and there didn't seem to be any immediate plans to charge for entry.
