Bunclody ICA - New members needed

It is 70 years since ICA was started in Bunclody. The guild has always been very active in the parish for all those years. We want to keep that tradition alive. But, due in no small way to Covid 19 and the demographic ageing of our members, we are desperately looking for new members to join our guild. We meet once a month and have a guest speaker. Sometimes have various crafts, etc at our meeting. We also meet once a month for coffee and chat in local restaurant. Sadly, if we do not get new members, we may have to close the guild. If you have 2 hours to spare, once a month, and to keep the guild open, which was kept going by so many wonderful women in the past.

Please phone 087 2805426 or 086 8135587

Martha and Mary were people of faith but Jesus led them to an even deeper faith, who were the people who led you to a deeper faith in Jesus? Remember them and give thanks. Martha and Mary were struggling to come to terms with their bereavement. What has helped you in similar situations? The concern of Jesus is palpable and touching. Recall those who matter to you and to whom you matter. Such love mediates God’s love, which surpasses human love with the gift of new life and Easter joy. One can imagine Lazarus as a symbol of people and groups that are written off as dead (sometimes by themselves), and yet through faith come back to life again. Have you had the experience of being revived by faith? Has faith helped to free you from what held you in bondage, or was destructive of your life?

‘Do you believe in eternal life?’ This is the question that Jesus poses to Martha in the Gospel for the Fifth Sunday of Lent and indeed puts before us all. Do we believe? This is the key question that we explore. We continue with the YouTube series ‘The Creed in Slow Motion’ and include Bishop Barron’s beautiful video meditations on the Stations of the Cross. We also have reflections on Jesus’ ‘Seven Last Words’ and discover another useful website that provides plentiful resources for parishes. As Holy Week approaches, we have an article on the close proximity of the mysteries of death and resurrection and finally, more inspiration and hope from the writing of Lorcan Brennan. Check out these and other resources available at

  • The Parish of Bunclody/Kilmyshall shall be a community:

  • Reaching out the hand of welcome to all who do not belong to our faith and worshipping community.
