Bunclody ICA - New members needed
It is 70 years since ICA was started in Bunclody. The guild has
always been very active in the parish for all those years. We want to
keep that tradition alive. But, due in no small way to Covid 19 and the
demographic ageing of our members, we are desperately looking for new
members to join our guild. We meet once a month and have a guest
speaker. Sometimes have various crafts, etc at our meeting. We also meet
once a month for coffee and chat in local restaurant. Sadly, if we do
not get new members, we may have to close the guild. If you have 2 hours
to spare, once a month, and to keep the guild open, which was kept going
by so many wonderful women in the past.
Please phone 087 2805426 or 086 8135587

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
Jesus uses the time they are travelling along the road to teach his
disciples what it means to follow him. Think of the wisdom you have
acquired about life, about faith, about what it means to be a Christian.
Who have been your teachers? Remember them and give thanks for them.
One of the lessons Jesus gives them is that there is a dying to be
endured as we move to a fuller life. That was the road he would travel.
It is also our journey, not only at the end of this earthly life, but
also in small ways through life. When have you found that by dying in
some way you came to a fuller life?
The sacrifices made by front line health care workers during the
coronavirus pandemic were an inspiration to many. They put them-selves
at risk to care for the sick, and some of them died. Are there other
people who have inspired you by their service of others.
Achievement, affirmation, recognition, and status are attractive and
enjoyable when they come our way. Yet we can be in trouble if, like the
disciples, we become caught up in pursuit of them. Jesus tells them that
true greatness lies in service of others. Who are the people whose
support and assistance help you now? What has helped you to appreciate
the value of loving service of others?

THE HOOK OF FAITH THIS WEEK
The voice of Andrea Bocelli is one of the most
recognised and popular around the world. In a video interview, he
talks about the importance of his faith that inspires the lyrics and
music he composes. The homily for the Twenty-Fifth Sunday of Ordinary
Time focuses on our call to become child-like before God but not
childish. We have the usual newsletter insert and reflect on the lives
of both St Matthew and St Pio whose feast days we celebrate this week.
Finally, we have more article and resources to use as we make our way
through the ‘Season of Creation’. Check out these and other resources
