Bunclody ICA - New members needed

It is 70 years since ICA was started in Bunclody. The guild has always been very active in the parish for all those years. We want to keep that tradition alive. But, due in no small way to Covid 19 and the demographic ageing of our members, we are desperately looking for new members to join our guild. We meet once a month and have a guest speaker. Sometimes have various crafts, etc at our meeting. We also meet once a month for coffee and chat in local restaurant. Sadly, if we do not get new members, we may have to close the guild. If you have 2 hours to spare, once a month, and to keep the guild open, which was kept going by so many wonderful women in the past.

Please phone 087 2805426 or 086 8135587

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

THE HOOK OF FAITH THIS WEEK

‘Artificial Intelligence and the Wisdom of the Heart’ is the title of Pope Francis’ message for the 58th World Day of Social Communications. We have a homily for the feast of the Lord’s Ascension and the usual choice of newsletter inserts. We have a prayer and message for road safety and the homily given by Bishop Kevin Doran before last Monday’s March for Life. Sean O’Leary offers a few thoughts on our shared destiny as a synodal Church and we have an article on how Ireland needs new Catholic politicians. Tony Foy, founder of NET Ministries gives an excellent interview on ‘Re-Evangelising Ireland’ and another article highlights the dignity of people with disabilities. Finally, Caoimhe de Barra speaks on the unfolding famine in Gaza and Colm Flynn reflects on ‘Infinite Dignity’ – the latest document from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

Check out these and other resources available at WWW.thehookoffaith.com
