THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
At this time of the year we take the opportunity to thank everybody
who has contributed to the life and service of the parish over the past
year. In what concerns church and liturgy gratitude is extended to the
choir, who enhance our celebrations, to the Readers, to the Eucharistic
Ministers, to the Servers, to the
Sacristan, to the Collectors, to the Legion of Mary, to those who
decorate and provide flowers for the church, to the Community Employment
Workers who serve the church in many ways, in cleaning the church, in
erecting the crib,
Christmas Tree and Banners during the year and other services. Many
thanks to the sisters for their commitment to Sacramental Education,
Youth Service, Altar Care, Music Ministry, Communion to the Sick and
Parish Visitation. We recognise with Gratitude, as well, the Parish
Pastoral Council in planning and giving direction to Parish Activity, to
the Finance Council for managing the Parish
Finances. We also acknowledge gratefully the work of those who
provide refreshments in the Pastoral Centre and are most grateful to the
Secretaries in the Office who provide wonderful and different services
on behalf of the parish, and to the many people who make themselves
available for various functions during the year. A very special word of
thanks to the Principal and Staff of our parish school and their great
work in education and values.
There are many people who participate in church life daily or weekly
who deserve our thanks. Those who come to mass and take part in the
Rosary and Divine Mercy Prayers every day give a powerful witness to
faith. The same is true for all the people who take part in Eucharistic
Adoration either on Mondays or in their own time. Gratitude, as well
to all who see the importance of Sunday Eucharist in nourishing their
Christian lives and adding to their friendship with Christ.
