‘The Monday Club’

Come and join us and brighten up your Monday mornings
Continuing with the March programme 10am – 2pm
Monday 6th March: “Keep up with Modern Technology”. Students from FCJ will help you improve your skills on phone, tablet, laptop, etc. Sessions will include basic skills, downloading apps of interest, skype, saving photos, etc.
Monday 13th March: “Skin Care & Beauty treatments”, with Michelle McDonald ( McCauley’s Pharmacy)
Monday 20th March: “ Keep up with Modern Technology” Continued..
Monday 27th March: “Craft Work” - Upscale tired and old furniture with Noeleen Maloney
Entrance Fee: €4 which includes Tea/Coffee & Light Lunch.
This Club will suit the 60+ age group.

Begin on Wednesday 8th Mar. at 8:00pm in the Pastoral Centre. This week Fr. O’ Connor will talk on ‘Introduction to the Gospels’ All are welcome.
During Lent Stations of the Cross will be every Friday at 7:00pm

Camp Veritas 2017

Camp Veritas is a one-week play-and-pray sleep away summer camp for teens 12-18 years old. Join the Camp Veritas staff this summer at Maynooth University in Co. Kildare, Ireland from June 26th-July 1th, 2017. This is our third year in Ireland after an awesome time last summer! Enrollment opens January 1st, 2017. For more details please contact 087- 0940488.

CHOIR: Choir practice in Kilmyshall every Monday at 7:30pm. New Members most welcome.
Weekday Mass: Held in the Oratory at 9:30 Tues-day, Thursday & Friday & 7:30pm on Wednesday. Prayer Group meet every Wednesday after 7:30 pm Mass in the parochial house. All are welcome.
Eucharistic Adoration: Every Tuesday in the Oratory from 10:00am to 5:00pm. Adorer’s required for hour 1pm-2pm, 2pm-3pm & 3pm-4pm. If you are available please leave your name in the parish office 053 9377188.

Lent is a time of renewal and new beginnings. It is a time for us to enter into the suffering and death of Jesus, before celebrating the joy and hope of Easter. It is a time to reflect in a special way on God’s word. Jesus tells us in today’s Gospel that God’s words are nourishing—man does not live on bread alone.
Our focus should not only be on earthly things. Lent reminds us that there is more to life than the physical world. We are all guilty of getting up in the practicalities of life; it is only natural to work and rush and plan and worry. Lent offers us an opportunity to reflect on what is really important. The sacrifices we make or the extra effort we put in to become better people this Lent are all part of that spiritual journey.
